Today, let’s have a look at Blond Amsterdam: a very vibrant, FUN! and character-infused crockery brand born in Holland and the creation of two Amsterdamese friends. The brand carries tea pots, tea cups, saucers, cake stands, tea warmers, sugar bowls, milk creamers, serviettes, and extends to plates, cookie jars, and recipe books.
You only need to visit their website to get hooked, and my first sighting was 2 years ago in the Bijenkorf (a major department store in Holland) where a very colourful pink teapot caught my eye. It had cartoon characters of two gal pals and speech bubbles uttering Dutch conversation between the two gossipers and the words “blah blah blah” incorporated in there somewhere. My first reaction was ‘must have!’ And it didn’t stop there, I had to have the matching biscuit tin, tea cups and saucers, serviettes, the list went on, and so I am proud to say that I am the very happy owner of numerous Blond Amsterdam items.
…..be the envy of all the girlies…
On my most recent visit to Amsterdam I was the envy of many ladies walking out of their flagship store with multiple (and also very bright!) Blond Amsterdam bags which I’m happy to report made it back to my apartment in my bike basket.
Do take time to have a look at their website, you’ll be taken by the singing bird, the quirky graphics, fun sounds, and the feel-good vibe just by navigating through the site. And the site can be viewed in English, bless!
